Earthquake Country Alliance<\/strong> (ECA) is a public-private partnership of people, volunteers, organizations, and regional associations that work together to improve preparedness, mitigation and resiliency in the case of an earthquake or emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earthquake Country Alliance provides information and resources to help everyone who lives, works, or travels in earthquake country get prepared to survive and recover quickly.<\/p>\n

Earthquake country includes anywhere in California because earthquakes occur without warning and effect everyone in a region within seconds. The amount of shaking that occurs during an earthquake depends on many factors such as the magnitude of the earthquake, location, the type of soil underneath your building, the type of building you’re in, etc.<\/p>\n

\"EarthquakeThe Southern California Earthquake Alliance<\/b> is one of three regional alliances that comprise the statewide Earthquake Country Alliance. They, too, have a public-private partnership of leading earthquake professionals, emergency managers, government officials, business and community leaders, and others.<\/p>\n

ECA has provided steps to help you understand what you need to do in case there is an earthquake. ECA divided it up into three main steps which include prepare (before), survive (during), and recover (after).<\/p>\n

Steps to help you survive an Earthquake<\/h2>\n

ECA suggests during the prepare stage that you should generate a disaster plan so that everyone in your family is prepared for when the day might come. Another application was to organize disaster supplies into one area that is convenient and easy to get to.<\/p>\n

The next part of the process is the survive step; ECA suggests that the best thing to do during an earthquake is to \u201cDrop, Cover and Hold On\u201d. This method has been taught for many years and is one of the best ways to keep you safe.<\/p>\n

The last step is the recover step, and it is suggested that you should start repairing damage and rebuilding the community as soon as possible. This step will be made easier through the assistance of the ECA and all of the many volunteers that they have.<\/p>\n
