{"id":15827,"date":"2020-07-28T12:03:52","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T19:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/?p=15827"},"modified":"2020-07-28T12:05:12","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T19:05:12","slug":"advanced-audiology-is-longest-standing-santa-clarita-audiologist-despite-challenge-of-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/home-and-garden-news\/advanced-audiology-is-longest-standing-santa-clarita-audiologist-despite-challenge-of-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced Audiology Is Longest-Standing Santa Clarita Audiologist Despite Challenge Of Pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">After more than 30 years in business, Advanced Audiology\u2019s Nola Aronson remains the longest-standing Santa Clarita audiologist, despite the difficulties presented by the coronavirus pandemic. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Even when she was forced to temporarily close her office doors at the start of the pandemic, Aronson used her four decades of experience to continue supporting her patients.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI was surprised that we had to be closed, because we are an essential business,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cWe were here for everybody when everybody else was closed, and we did a lot of community service, which is what we\u2019re known for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For over two months, Aronson and her husband helped those in need both remotely and behind their office\u2019s closed doors, repairing and cleaning hearing devices, helping to correct simple issues by phone and even mailing supplies out to people for free.<\/p>\n<h4>Related:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/health-and-beauty\/santa-clarita-audiologist-discusses-challenges-of-hearing-loss-during-covid-19-pandemic-333346\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Santa Clarita Audiologist Discusses Challenges Of Hearing Loss During COVID-19 Pandemic<\/a><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe helped people for free, clean their hearing aids, get them working again,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cWe gave out (to) over 500 patients free batteries, free hearing aid supplies. We paid for all the postage during these two and a half months we were closed and not making a penny, so we are here for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Because people with hearing loss who rely on reading lips to help them understand others are probably struggling during the face covering mandate, Advanced Audiology now offers clear plastic face coverings too.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Aronson pointed out that she can relate to what her patients are going through when it comes to both hearing and isolation during the pandemic, as a senior herself with an elderly mother.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe are isolated from others, especially if you\u2019re in an assisted living facility or a nursing home &#8212; seniors are not able to get out; they\u2019re not able to socialize,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cMy mother, who is 89, is in one of those places, and I haven\u2019t really been able to see her or take her to my house for over three months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This kind of isolation brings stress by itself, but combined with the inability to understand others or the TV due to hearing loss, other health problems such as depression could also come as a result.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Anyone who might be having hearing difficulties is being encouraged by Aronson to schedule their free hearing screening at Advanced Audiology, and full diagnostic evaluations typically covered by Medicare are also available, along with the newest hearing aid technologies.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI wanted to stress during this very stressful time,\u201d Aronson said, \u201cthat it still is extremely important to not ignore your hearing problems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/tag\/advanced-audiology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Advanced Audiology<\/i><\/a><i>\u00a0was founded in 2010 by Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson, who has been fitting hearing aids for more than 30 years.
