{"id":12606,"date":"2018-10-12T16:01:26","date_gmt":"2018-10-12T23:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/?p=12606"},"modified":"2018-10-30T15:08:25","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T22:08:25","slug":"audiology-awareness-month-celebrated-by-santa-clarita-audiologist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/home-and-garden-news\/audiology-awareness-month-celebrated-by-santa-clarita-audiologist\/","title":{"rendered":"Audiology Awareness Month Celebrated By Santa Clarita Audiologist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">A Santa Clarita audiologist is educating community members on what an audiologist does in honor of Audiology Awareness Month, and talking about the reasons to choose a private practice audiology office when it comes to hearing loss solutions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Audiologists receive university training for at least four to six years, and must also now have a doctorate degree from a four-year doctoral program, noted Advanced Audiology\u2019s Nola Aronson.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/health-and-beauty\/santa-clarita-audiologist-now-offering-first-true-artificial-intelligence-hearing-aid-251534\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Santa Clarita Audiologist Now Offering First &#8216;True&#8217; Artifical Intelligence Hearing Aid<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThey are trained in the diagnosis of hearing loss and the solutions, and what to do about different types of hearing loss,\u201d Aronson explained. \u201cThey can also find medical problems that occur in the ear \u2026 and we deal with balance and dizzy problems also.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Though audiologists refer out to the appropriate medical doctors when it comes to medical problems, Aronson noted that they will make the actual diagnosis first.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For example, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/health-and-beauty\/khts-co-owner-carl-goldman-shares-journey-after-ear-tumor-diagnosis-227216\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/health-and-beauty\/khts-co-owner-carl-goldman-shares-journey-after-ear-tumor-diagnosis-227216&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1539470570118000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFbLnp-gkhgIYYK_meZKjBHVfmNeg\">KHTS Co-Owner Carl Goldman was diagnosed with an ear tumor by Aronson<\/a> earlier this year after seeking her help for his monthslong hearing loss in one ear.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Goldman said that Aronson stayed by his side through the entire process, even working with his doctors directly. He also had appointments once a week with Aronson to fine tune his hearing loss solutions during a \u201cwait-and-see\u201d six-month time period recommended by his doctors.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe don\u2019t just sell hearing aids,\u201d said Aronson. \u201cWe actually have solutions, we actually have communication strategies and we actually do those kinds of things, so when people think of us, they need to think more of their health rather than buying something, because there\u2019s a big difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If a patient has trouble affording to go to a private practice Santa Clarita audiologist, Aronson said that she has called insurance companies and even tracked down donated hearing aids that she can give to someone in need.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI go that extra mile to try to help my patients,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cIt\u2019s not all about just money all the time, and that\u2019s what a lot of people think it\u2019s about. I really care whether people hear or not.
