{"id":12601,"date":"2018-10-05T15:53:40","date_gmt":"2018-10-05T22:53:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/?p=12601"},"modified":"2018-10-30T15:07:27","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T22:07:27","slug":"first-true-ai-hearing-aid-now-available-at-santa-clarita-audiologists-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/home-and-garden-news\/first-true-ai-hearing-aid-now-available-at-santa-clarita-audiologists-office\/","title":{"rendered":"First \u2018True\u2019 AI Hearing Aid Now Available At Santa Clarita Audiologist\u2019s Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The first \u201ctrue\u201d AI, or artificial intelligence, hearing aid is now available at a Santa Clarita audiologist\u2019s office, Nola Aronson\u2019s Advanced Audiology, after the product was released last month.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s so amazing,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cIt not only tracks your steps, your heart rate &#8212; you will not have to use a Fitbit anymore &#8212; it measures your brain activity so you see how you\u2019re doing in your listening environments and how your brain is functioning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/health-and-beauty\/nola-aronsons-advanced-audiology-sponsors-four-community-events-in-30-days-248248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nolan Aronson&#8217;s Advanced Audiology Sponsors Four Community Events In 30 Days<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The AI hearing aid was created by the only all American-made hearing aid manufacturer Starkey, and can measure hearing and brain activity, according to Aronson.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIf you have a hearing loss and you miss so much information over time, you\u2019re more prone to getting Alzheimer\u2019s and dementia,\u201d she said. \u201cSo now through this hearing aid, you\u2019re able to measure that involvement of how you listen (in) all kinds of listening environments you\u2019re in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The AI hearing aid also stands apart from other hearing aids with its revolutionary ability to provide language translations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt will tell you in your ear what the person is saying,\u201d Aronson said, adding that the only requirement for these innovative features is a smartphone app.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But the most important part about the AI hearing aid is the unparalleled sound quality it provides compared to more standard hearing aids, Aronson noted.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI put a pair on because I wanted to hear the translation of the languages,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was so clear and crisp\u2026 I can\u2019t even hear the cars in the background because it\u2019s not paying attention to all the noise. It doesn\u2019t have a lot of the circuit noise and the distortion, it has clarity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Aronson is also able to make adjustments to the AI hearing aid from her office without the patient needing to come in, which allowed her to take care of a patient whom she has seen since he was a child even after he grew up and moved away.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt has Telehealth built into it, so with a code, he hooks up to my computer and now, from Pismo Beach, if he\u2019s having a problem with his hearing aid, I can adjust it from my computer,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cHe wrote me on Instant Messenger last night (about) how thankful he is, that these are the best pair of hearing aids he\u2019s ever had and that he thanks me for taking such good care of him all his life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Aronson continued, \u201cAs I get older and I\u2019m thinking about, well it\u2019s getting time to retire, but with all this great new technology, it\u2019s so exciting for me because I actually am changing people\u2019s lives and giving them back their quality of life.
