Nola Aronson and her team at Advanced Audiology have nearly reached the halfway point of their goal to give 2,018 free hearing screenings in 2018, having provided over 940 so far.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we do for the community is we give free hearing screenings so that people can be aware and educated about their hearing, because it\u2019s so important for communication,\u201d Aronson said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The goal was increased this year after Advanced Audiology provided approximately 1,500 free hearing screenings in Santa Clarita in 2017.<\/p>\n

Not only does the person who comes in for the screening receive one, but Aronson noted that the family member or significant other who comes with them to the appointment is offered a free hearing screening as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are actually very surprised when we do the baseline that either their hearing is fine and now they know and know what to look for, or they do have a hearing loss,\u201d Aronson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what we do at Advanced Audiology, is we love to educate people,\u201d Aronson continued. \u201cJust because you come in our door does not mean we\u2019re going to try to sell you a hearing aid. I hate that word, \u2018sell\u2019 you, because we have solutions to your hearing needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

A countless number of people with hearing losses they didn\u2019t even know they had have received solutions from Aronson since she first started giving free hearing screenings to the public, and Aronson has even identified a number of acoustic tumors as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou shouldn\u2019t go without,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cIf you make it free, people should take advantage of it, and you have nothing to lose.\u201d<\/p>\n
