Over the last few months, Advanced Audiology\u2019s Nola Aronson has given back to at least five Santa Clarita Valley nonprofits, with the list still growing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like to very involved in my community,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cWe are a very giving community as a whole, and I just feel to participate in this community, you should give back, and so I try to choose charities that mean something to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

In just one weekend, Aronson was the sponsor of both the Circle of Hope Afternoon Tea and the Walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s, two causes she said are dear to her heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlzheimer\u2019s is important because not only do I have a family member with Alzheimer\u2019s, but we have a lot of seniors that I deal with (at Advanced Audiology) that have Alzheimer\u2019s, and they also have trouble hearing,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cThey have related those two things.\u201d<\/p>\n

On why she chose Circle of Hope\u2019s event, Aronson is a 17-year breast cancer survivor, and she noted that the organization does a good job helping women who were in her position, but may not be able to access the same treatment options she did on their own.<\/p>\n

\u201cLuckily for me, I had good insurance, so I was able to be taken care of,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cFor the people that aren\u2019t able to get the kind of care that I did, I want to help them so that we have all survivors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Drawing on her past as a special education teacher, Aronson has a passion for helping children, specifically addressing illiteracy. As a result, she donated 250 fiction books and $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley in June.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need two incomes in families nowadays to survive, a lot of mothers can\u2019t be home like my mother was,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen nobody\u2019s there, the Boys & Girls Club is such a wonderful option because it gives you something to do, you have friends, they help you with your homework and do all those kinds of things.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, Aronson wanted to help fill a gap she sees in the school system today in providing extracurricular activities like music and art.<\/p>\n

When she discovered a youth foundation for dance in September, started by the owners of D\u2019Wilfri DanceArt and Entertainment in Santa Clarita, Aronson decided to send kids from a few different organizations to dance classes for free.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey don\u2019t only teach dance, they teach feeling good about yourself,\u201d she said. \u201cI had just come from the Boys & Girls Club tour, so I started to think, now how can this relate?\u201d<\/p>\n

Aronson made a donation so that about 20 kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley and a group of teenage girls from Soroptimist International\u2019s \u201cGo Girls\u201d program could attend the program\u2019s dance classes.<\/p>\n

Lastly — at least for now — Aronson made a sizeable donation to the new Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at the end of September, having a room named after her<\/p>\n

\u201cI realize I\u2019m doing more and more,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cIt used to be one each month, but I\u2019m having fun doing this and I feel really good about it, and I\u2019m able to do it\u2026 It\u2019s fun to try to juggle all this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Advanced Audiology<\/i><\/a>\u00a0was founded in 2010 by Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson, who has been fitting hearing aids for more than 30 years. Advanced Audiology is the largest diagnostic hearing center in the Santa Clarita Valley, focusing on clients with hearing loss, tinnitus, ears ringing and more. Hearing tests, hearing aids and new sound infrared devices are also available at Advanced Audiology in addition to a complete hearing healthcare program that includes free batteries, quarterly\u00a0cleanings\u00a0and adjustments.<\/i><\/p>\n
