{"id":10033,"date":"2017-05-26T14:09:38","date_gmt":"2017-05-26T21:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/?p=10033"},"modified":"2017-06-05T14:10:58","modified_gmt":"2017-06-05T21:10:58","slug":"advanced-audiologys-continuing-goal-is-to-make-peoples-lives-better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.santaclaritahomeandgardenshow.com\/upgrade\/home-and-garden-news\/advanced-audiologys-continuing-goal-is-to-make-peoples-lives-better\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced Audiology\u2019s Continuing Goal Is To Make People\u2019s Lives Better"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">By Aislinn Sebastian<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Advanced Audiology\u2019s Nola Aronson has finally reached over 30 years as a Santa Clarita audiologist, and Aronson\u2019s motivation to keep her coming to work year after year is knowing that she\u2019s helping people\u2019s lives improve by correcting hearing problems.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"yj6qo ajU\"><!--more--><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">When Robin Clough from the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center shared how her hearing aid has changed her life for the better on KHTS AM-1220\u2019s \u201cThe Senior Hour,\u201d Aronson said it warmed her heart.<\/p>\n<h4 dir=\"ltr\">Related Story:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/santa-clarita-news\/health-and-beauty\/santa-clarita-audiologist-how-can-you-afford-not-to-hear-193831\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Santa Clarita Audiologist: \u2018How Can You Afford Not To Hear?\u2019<\/a><\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis is why I stay doing what I\u2019m doing, because I get to hear stories like that,\u201d Aronson said. \u201cI am looking forward to making people\u2019s lives better and changing people\u2019s lives, and when they tell me stories like that, then I go, \u2018Okay \u2014 my job is worth it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Clough admitted she was in denial that she had a hearing loss and simply assumed everyone else mumbled when speaking to her. But when her daughter was trying to tell her something very important on the phone and Clough missed it, it was the wakeup call she needed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI was just like, \u2018Oh yeah, uh huh,\u2019\u201d Clough recalled. \u201cAnd she goes, \u2018I don\u2019t think you heard what I said,\u2019 and she had to repeat it. And then I thought, \u2018Oh my gosh, I missed that important, exciting information about her because of (hearing loss), and then I went right out to see you (Aronson).\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After going home with a brand new hearing aid from Advanced Audiology, Clough explained that the whole world opened up to her again.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI guess this is like, I don\u2019t know, getting your sight back suddenly,\u201d she said, \u201cwhich is also kind of strange, that people would be hesitant to wear a hearing aid, but yet they\u2019re not hesitant to wear glasses, which are so much more prominent. And can you imagine if you do wear glasses, your life without them? That\u2019s the same type of impact having hearing aids has on you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Aronson said she frequently hears from her patients that their relationship with their spouse is back to like the first day they were married, similar to the dramatic difference in Clough\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThey come to me and say things like that, and \u2018I can\u2019t believe how you changed my life; I can\u2019t believe the sounds that I was missing; why didn\u2019t I do this earlier?\u2019\u201d Aronson said. \u201cThose are the things that make me want to keep going and do my job\u2026 That\u2019s what warms my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hometownstation.com\/tag\/advanced-audiology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Advanced Audiology<\/i><\/a><i> was founded in 2010 by Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson, who has been fitting hearing aids for more than 30 years.
