Since 1964, Rayne Water has been a keystone of the Santa Clarita Valley by providing every aspect of its community with top quality water and a wide variety of treatment systems.
SCV Water was formed in 2018; they just celebrated one year of operation in January.
SCV Water acts as a water management agency for the Santa Clarita Valley.
The water agency serves approximately 72,000 businesses and residents in the city of Santa Clarita.
In January of 2018 the Newhall Water Division, Santa Clarita Water Division and Valencia Water Division all joined together to become SCV Water.
While the founding of the agency is a more recent development they do have history that dates back decades, with the Newhall Water Division, Santa Clarita Water Division, and Valencia Water Division dating back to the early to mid 1900’s.
Since the merge of all the water divisions into SCV Water there has been a sufficient amount of savings in budget and great progress made towards the reorganization.
Here in Santa Clarita we share one river and one watershed. The agency provides an important service, community, and value to the city of Santa Clarita.
The Santa Clarita Valley Water agency is self described on their website as: “unified, integrated, best in class, and a new era in regional water resource.”
You can visit the Santa Clarita Valley Water agency online to keep up to date with SCV Water open houses, information, rebates, and other upcoming events. You can also visit the Santa Clarita Water agency online to report a leak, pay your bill, and more.

Valencia Water Company
The Valencia Water Company (VWC) supplies safe and healthy drinking water to the Santa Clarita Valley, including Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, and portions of Newhall, Saugus, and Castaic. The company oversees the processing and distribution of groundwater and imported well water to homes, as well as commercial and industrial areas. Their customer base is comprised of 116,000 SCV citizens, 85% of which is residential. The Valencia Water Company also helps to develop and implement water conservation policies that benefit the natural environment and improve the overall well-being of the community.
The Valencia Water Company provides its customers with water that is in complete compliance with all federal and state quality water regulations. Under the direction and guidance of the California Department of Public Health, samples are collected weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. At the VWC, water goes through hundreds of quality analyses each year. This agency is committed to providing customers with the best water available, which involves adhering to the stringent regulations enforced by the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments, passed in 1996 by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Water quality and conservation are extremely important to the VWC. The VWC website is a great resource for tips on how to improve water efficiency and reduce monthly expenses. Through the company’s Water Conservation Program, Santa Clarita residents can receive up to 25 high efficiency sprinkler nozzles that they can use to keep their landscapes beautiful and save water. The Valencia Water company also offers rebates for customers who replace their old spray sprinklers with high efficiency equipment, or who replace their spray irrigation with non-turf applications such as shrubs and flowers.
The VWC provides a mix of 50% groundwater from wells and 50% imported water, bought from the Castaic Lake Water Agency. Groundwater is pumped from the Alluvial Aquifier, as well as the Saugus Formation. Since July 2003, the VWC has used recycled water for irrigation in its service area.
Through strict quality control, water conservation efforts, and adherence to environmental regulations, the VWC provides the Santa Clarita Valley with safe and clean drinking water.
