You are invited to “spring forward” with your landscape this March with the help of SCV Water’s free gardening classes in Santa Clarita.
Classes available this month include “Top 30 Plants for the SCV” on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. and “Planning Your Landscape Project: Design to Construction on Saturday, March 21 at 9 a.m.
“March is all about spring,” said SCV Water officials in a statement. “We ‘spring’ forward with daylight savings time March 8, and the first day of spring is March 19. March is also a great month to start thinking about preparing your landscape so it will blossom.”

John Windsor is set to teach the class, bringing more than two decades of experience as a horticultural advisor, certified arborist and California certified nurseryman. Participants can plan on leaving the class with a full-color plant guide.
The second class on March 21 will teach attendees how to plan their reimagined landscape, including the different components you need to develop a scope for your project and create your landscape design and budget.
Taught by Tim Wheeler, attendees can expect to learn from his 25 years of green industry experience, where he has specialized in water conservation, as well as landscape management and education. Wheeler has also held a variety of certifications and licenses, including certified landscape water auditor, certified arborist and water use efficiency practitioner.
Both “Top 30 Plants for the SCV” and “Planning Your Landscape Project: Design to Construction” are scheduled to take place at SCV Water, located at 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.
