A special open house event is set to take place at Nola Aronson’s Advanced Audiology featuring the first “true” artificial intelligence, or AI, hearing aid, which was released last month.
By appointment only on Oct. 30-31, attendees can learn about advancements in hearing aid technology — specifically the AI hearing aid designed by the only all American-made manufacturer, Starkey.

“It’s so amazing,” Aronson said in a previous KHTS interview. “It not only tracks your steps, your heart rate — you will not have to use a Fitbit anymore — it measures your brain activity so you see how you’re doing in your listening environments and how your brain is functioning.”
The AI hearing aid also has the capacity to translate languages in the user’s ear, and is able to be adjusted and programmed from an audiologist’s computer without the user needing to actually visit the office.
Additionally, the AI hearing aid provides a high-quality sound that Aronson noted is unparalleled compared to other more standard hearing aids.
“I put a pair on because I wanted to hear the translation of the languages,” she said. “It was so clear and crisp… I can’t even hear the cars in the background because it’s not paying attention to all the noise. It doesn’t have a lot of the circuit noise and the distortion, it has clarity.”
Those who would like to learn about the AI hearing aid can call the Advanced Audiology office to make their open house appointment, when they will have a chance to try it for themselves.
“We’re giving free trials on this, so if you already wear hearing aids and you would like to try something new, this is something fun to try,” Aronson said.
