Nola Aronson and her team at Advanced Audiology have nearly reached the halfway point of their goal to give 2,018 free hearing screenings in 2018, having provided over 940 so far.
“What we do for the community is we give free hearing screenings so that people can be aware and educated about their hearing, because it’s so important for communication,” Aronson said.
The goal was increased this year after Advanced Audiology provided approximately 1,500 free hearing screenings in Santa Clarita in 2017.
Not only does the person who comes in for the screening receive one, but Aronson noted that the family member or significant other who comes with them to the appointment is offered a free hearing screening as well.

“People are actually very surprised when we do the baseline that either their hearing is fine and now they know and know what to look for, or they do have a hearing loss,” Aronson said.
“This is what we do at Advanced Audiology, is we love to educate people,” Aronson continued. “Just because you come in our door does not mean we’re going to try to sell you a hearing aid. I hate that word, ‘sell’ you, because we have solutions to your hearing needs.”
A countless number of people with hearing losses they didn’t even know they had have received solutions from Aronson since she first started giving free hearing screenings to the public, and Aronson has even identified a number of acoustic tumors as well.
“You shouldn’t go without,” Aronson said. “If you make it free, people should take advantage of it, and you have nothing to lose.”
