Nikki Miller, a resident of the Santa Clarita Valley, is the founder of the Academy Swim Club along with her husband Jim. It started in 1994 when their 1-year-old, Dakota, almost drowned and his 4-year-old brother saved him. This sparked the Millers’ resolve and created Academy Swim to not only provide swimming lessons but also to provide safety lessons to prevent people from going through the danger their son went through.
