The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is a wonderful organization that helps empower women through service and advocacy. The women of the organization strive to help improve the lives of all women with hands on service delivery. If there is one word to describe the organization best it would be leadership, which the professional ladies of the organization do as they advance the status of women in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Zonta Is Their Name, Advocacy and Awareness Is Their Game
This is not the only place in the world however, The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is actually a proud member of Zonta International which has a consultative status with the United Nations. A little history of Zonta International is that it started 100 years ago in 1919. In Buffalo, New York, a small group of pioneering women created a vision to help all women realize equality while using their own personal and team mindset to help the community. From that point onwards, they became known as Zonta International.
There are many service projects that the this organization helps provide leadership to, and there are also many community based organizations throughout Santa Clarita that they are affiliated with. The club actually has partnered with the local Boys and Girls Club to help create a Robotics program for girls ages 9-14. They help make more interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. That program helps teach girls how to design, program, and control Lego Mindstorm Robots.

Other programs that provide leadership to is The LifeForward program which offers monthly skill building workshops on topics that are useful to women of varying ages and interests. Some examples of topics would be job searching, parenting, self-care, and financial education. One other program that the club sponsors is Advocacy and Awareness. One of their campaigns is “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women”. The campaign has included a display of seven red dresses around Santa Clarita which is a symbol for seven women who lost their lives in one year to domestic violence. This helped promote awareness and advocacy to women of SCV.
The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is a great organization that is here to help women across the Valley become more empowered. The wonderful ladies of this organization are here to make a difference for women, if your interested in their cause please give them a look.
