In 2010, the Community Gardens of the Santa Clarita Valley was started by the efforts of the Garden Club of Santa Clarita with the support of the city of Santa Clarita. Over the past few years the gardens have made great lengths in growing larger for the community. While visiting the gardens, you can clearly see that they are supplying more and more to the public for their viewing pleasure. Like no other garden you have seen before, you are in for a real treat when you take the time to visit the gardens.
The Community Gardens is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a community facility where individuals can come together to promote the benefits of locally grown, organic food that is environmentally friendly, sustainable, and cost effective which delivers economic, health, and educational benefits to a wide variety of valley residents. Supplying the community with locally grown, fresh content is their goal to make sure that the community is striving to be healthier and cost effective.
There are many ways to support a community. This one supports with locally grown food that is essentially healthy for everyone. Going to the local market of your neighborhood to buy food and groceries can be time consuming. But with the Community Gardens they are providing a service, so you do not have t go to the store. The goods that they are supplying a healthy for you and your entire family. Living a healthier lifestyle is something that they consider when they are growing their foods.
Locally grow food is very good for the environment and your digestive system. Locally grown food does not have to be traveling a far distance to get to your plate. Locally grown and locally delivered is a very fast turnaround time. This will help the environment in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to improving our carbon footprint.
The Community Gardens of the Santa Clarita Valley focuses their efforts and attention in growing local food for their community. They want their community to be healthier, and also aware of the environmental issues that has to do with food not grown locally. Visiting the Garden will enlighten more in the community.
