The Domestic Violence Center

The numbers are staggering. One in three women have admitted to being in an abusive relationship at one point of their lives.  An average of 3 women are murdered by a spouse or boyfriend, every single day in the United States.  The trend trickles down to children, in the form of child abuse.

The Santa Clarita Valley is not exempt from this scary and horrible abuse.

The Domestic Violence Center of the Santa Clarita Valley is doing everything in their power to help put an end to these horrible statistics of violence.

The DVC of Santa Clarita is constantly raising awareness in hopes of changing this.  Their mission is to teach, and prevent through intervention, to finally put an end to the cycle of violence.  They believe that everyone in the Santa Clarita Valley, and elsewhere,  deserves to live and thrive in a violence free community.

The DVC of Santa Clarita Valley offers shelter, counseling, and crisis intervention. Services are found at the Outreach Center and the Emergency Center.

Services are not exclusive to women, but also men and children who are also victims of domestic violence.  Individual counseling, parenting classes and legal help is also available at the Outreach center.

The Emergency Shelter was founded in 1979.  It is there to offer food and shelter to those who are victims of domestic violence, including child abuse.

The program provides individual and group counseling, transportation, emergency food and clothing assistance in addition to case management, legal advocacy, CalWORKs assistance, temporary restraining order (TRO) preparation and submission, court accompaniment, parenting education and transitional services.

The DVC of Santa Clarita Valley offers support groups, individual therapy, peer counseling and court advocacy, and 30 day emergency shelter.

If you know someone who is a victim of domestic violence, please urge them to call the hotline.

There is a 24 hour hotline 661-259-HELP for emergencies.  For non emergency help, call 661-259-8175. The 24-hour hotline staffed is trained advocates who provide counseling, information, referrals and access to immediate shelter.
