Newly opened in the Santa Clarita Valley, Bikram Yoga is the sole yoga studio in the area to offer none other than Bikram Yoga. Welcoming people of all ages and skill levels, the Bikram Yoga studio offers classes and embraces new clients from across Santa Clarita as well as other nearby neighborhoods to the valley and the greater Los Angeles area. Located in Old Town Newhall, Bikram Yoga practices the renowned yoga structure created by Bikram Choudhury, and the classes taught will increase your discipline in flexibility, concentration, and strength.
Performed in a heated room, Bikram Yoga provides the traditional 90-minute classes as Bikram-certified instructors lead students through the series of 26 different postures and two breathing exercises. Each pose stretches the ligaments, muscles, and joints in preparation for the next posture in the exercise. As well as building flexibility, the practice also stimulates the body’s organs, nerves, and glands, pulsing freshly oxygenated blood through the body. Adding on to the prevention of an injury, illness, and promoting weight loss, Bikram Yoga also helps delay the effects of aging.
Students are advised to bring towels, water and a yoga mat, however, water and mats are available to buy and rent in the studio in preparation for the class. Upon entering the yoga room, mirrors line the walls and rubber floors bound with radiant heat and humidifiers prepare your body for the heat that will warm up your muscles and flush out toxins all while allowing a deeper workout. Though the high temperature and exercises may take some getting used to, students are always content with the results that follow.
There is no commitment to purchasing a membership or attending at a certain class time. Bikram Yoga welcomes you to come at your own availability and jump right back in. There is no need to feel self-conscious about your skills—Bikram Choudhury created this practice with beginners in mind. Class after class, you will begin to be set in your groove and adapt to the postures and stretching taught. Classes are available everyday, and Bikram Yoga looks forward to meeting the citizens of Santa Clarita and introducing them to the Bikram method.
