Damsel in Defense
You never know when an emergency will happen; it is always better to be safe than sorry. Even in relatively safe town like Santa Clarita it is important to be prepared just in case something unexpected were to come up. Damsel in Defense is a business, which want to acknowledge this and allow women to feel safer and more prepared to take on an emergency. They will be participating at the Santa Clarita Home and Garden Show to show off their adorable products designed for women emergency preparedness.
In September 2011 two moms with a shared passion for safety were looking for a way to defend themselves and their children. They decided the method had to be non-lethal, so firearms were not an option. They began to research non-lethal ways to disable an attacker. The national statistic of sexual assault and aggravated assaults against women in America also pushed them to start their own business. This is how they began finding products for safety-conscious women.

Overwhelming Positive Response For Damsel in Defense
They received an overwhelming positive response from the public in their home state of Idaho. They would, being busy mothers of young children, need help in order to spread their products throughout the country. In October 2011, they started the first Independent Damsel Pro with a goal of 100 nationwide Damsel Pros. They now have over 4000 Damsel Pros working under them and they are still growing and spreading at an exponential rate.
With a strict mentality in their mission of helping women by following three steps, the steps are to equip, empower, and educate the women of the country so they are better able to take on possible emergencies and avoid harm. They use an analogy of buying a gun; the clerk who sold it to you will not take you to a shooting range to teach you how to use the firearm. The Damsel Pros are trained to not only provide the safety products, but to educate the people purchasing them to use them properly.
This mission of these unique products is making women everywhere including the Santa Clarita Valley feel much safer in any environment and definitely worth checking out at the Home and Garden Show in April.
