American Red Cross
The American National Red Cross is a humanitarian organization emergency care, disaster relief, and education in the United States. They are the designated affiliate of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. They have a strong network of generous donors; volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world, through five key service areas. The American Red Cross representatives of Santa Clarita will be holding a booth to spread awareness at the Home and Garden Show in April.
The Red Cross responds to about 70,000 disasters in the United States alone. These disasters range from home fires that only affect one family, to hurricanes that affect tens of thousands. For Californians earthquakes are a potential danger, and the Red Cross is prepares to alleviate these disasters that affect millions of people. They provide shelter, food, health and mental health services to help families and entire communities get back on their feet.

The American Red Cross Is An Essential Part Of Response To Disasters
The Red Cross is not a government entity. That being said it is an absolutely essential part of response to disasters. They also work with other agencies and organizations to help as many people in need as they possibly can.
They not only provide disaster relief, they also support America’s military families. This service includes helping military member, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of serving the country with military service.
The Red Cross is regarded as one of the leading providers of health and safety education. Courses they offer include CPR, First Aid and lifeguard training. They reach out to more than 9 million Americans in these courses. They participate in training programs, including first responders, educators, babysitters, and people who want to be prepared to help in the case of an emergency.
Another famous Red Cross Service is their life saving blood programs. They are the single largest supplier of blood and blood products in the U.S. Nearly 4 million people donate each year.
All of these services will be presented along with their international outreach programs at the Santa Clarita Home and Garden Show in efforts to spread the word of their essential services to the people of the community.
