As Denise reminisces about her childhood in Wales, particularly about her first memory of Welsh Cakes, she is inspired to bring them back into her family again. Denise moved to America in her 20’s to work as a nurse at the Sherman Oaks Burn Center.
Upon meeting her husband, Joe, she retired as a nurse in order to take care of their two children, Thomas and Rebecca. Denise, inspired by her Welsh roots and her Welsh Cake family recipe, decided to introduce the delicate treat into her family after her daughter’s birth.
Pleased and delighted with the cakes, her husband, Joe, recommended that she should pursue cooking Welsh cakes as a business. This idea was put aside up until her husband Joe, lost his job of 25 years in Information Technology. Due to the sudden shift in their lives, the idea of cooking Welsh Cakes as a business now became a reality. Denise was able to cook Welsh Cakes along with her husband, a dream that she never thought would actually occur.
Together, Denise and Bill became a team and since their decision to open the business, they have introduced new flavors while lowering the fat and calories on the cakes. They vow to always retain the “All Natural” label and they are determined to satisfy their customers with their creations.
