Some people’s issues with hearing aids could be the way they look, but technology is rapidly changing, according to Nola Aronson of Advanced Audiology.
“Look at the bluetooth devices of today — they’re gigantic,” says Aronson. “I tell everybody, ‘Why don’t you just say you have a modern bluetooth device, because that’s what it is.’”
Aronson continues to advise that hearing aids can also allow users to use their cellphones, watch television, music and audiobooks.
“You have to have a personal headset in anyways,” explains Aronson. “Who wants to wear wires and big headphones when you can have these little tiny devices?”

Hearing aids are not only useful for hearing, but also for communication, according to Aronson.
“People think, ‘Oh, I can’t get a hearing aid because that means I’m old,’” said Aronson.
Aronson doesn’t view seniors as “old people”; she believes that hearing loss simply comes with age.
“It’s very exciting times for everything, technology is changing for the better,” Aronson says. “It’s making people younger and younger and not older.”

Aronson is now celebrating her 30th anniversary in the Santa Clarita Valley. As a Santa Clarita audiologist, she said she is looking forward to serving all of her patients for more years to come.
