A total of 15 children from the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club now have the chance to take free dance classes thanks to a donation by Advanced Audiology.

Owner Nola Aronson donates 10 percent of proceeds from hearing aid sales to a different Santa Clarita nonprofit every month, and this month is focusing on a program called “Youth for Dance.”

“We not only help you hear better, but we help you help your community,” Aronson said, noting Advanced Audiology most recently focused donations on Circle of Hope. “We’ve donated to a new organization called Youth for Dance and … by donating to them, I am going to be able to give 15 children from the Boys & Girls Club free dance lessons.”

Further, a group of teenaged girls from Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley’s “Go Girls” program are also set to take free dance classes thanks to Advanced Audiology.

“It’s not just about dancing, but it’s about feeling better about yourself,” Aronson said. “A lot of our education in the schools and stuff has taken away these extracurricular activities. This will allow children to have these activities again and do what they like to do.”

Any individuals unsure about whether they should have their hearing checked should note that Advanced Audiology is giving free hearing screenings during their 30-year anniversary in Santa Clarita.

“We had a goal this year of 1,500 free hearing screenings for the community,” she said. “We recommend anybody age 50 and over to at least get a baseline, just like you do for your other health issues … so as you get older you can know where it started from.”

Aronson continued, “Remember, hearing is what connects you to life. Without your hearing, you can’t communicate with people. As Helen Keller said, “Hearing connects you to people.”

Advanced Audiology was founded in 2010 by Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson, who has been fitting hearing aids for more than 30 years. Advanced Audiology is the largest diagnostic hearing center in the Santa Clarita Valley, focusing on clients with hearing loss, tinnitus, ears ringing and more. Hearing tests, hearing aids and new sound infrared devices are also available at Advanced Audiology in addition to a complete hearing healthcare program that includes free batteries, quarterly cleanings and adjustments.
