Nola Aronson, owner of Advanced Audiology, recently donated numerous books to the children of the Santa Clarita’s Boys & Girls Club.
Because of her passion for promoting literacy as a former teacher, Aronson’s aim was to get kids excited about reading by presenting a donation of fiction paperback and audio books by L. Ron Hubbard.
“I believe that books make people smarter, and when you know how to read you can find out all kinds of things and you can really grow,” she said. “All the kids got a book, and they were all excited because they were all adventure stories and science fiction stories.”

One of the reasons Aronson decided to offer the donation was to make a contribution to ongoing efforts to improve literacy nationwide.
“The average reading level of a person in the United States is third grade, and it’s very hard to get anywhere if that’s all you can read,” she explained. “Having these great stories will encourage kids, I hope, to read.”
Right after she presented the books at the Boys & Girls Club, Aronson also delivered a $2,500 check to become a “Silver Sponsor” of the 46th annual benefit auction “Vegas Baby,” which the organization held on June 3.
The book donation, in combination with this latest sponsorship, is part of a long history of support Aronson offers to Santa Clarita nonprofits, even donating 10 percent of her proceeds every month from hearing aid sales.
“I like to give back to my community. Santa Clarita is a wonderful community, and we have over 100 nonprofit organizations,” Aronson said. “It makes not only me feel really good that I’m helping out, but it makes the patient feel good. When you buy a hearing aid through me, 10 percent of that, you’re donating back to your community.”
Advanced Audiology was founded in 2010 by Santa Clarita audiologist Nola Aronson, who has been fitting hearing aids for more than 30 years.
