The Boys & Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley is a national organization of local chapters which provides after school programs for young people. Their mission is to inspire and enable all youths, especially those that need the Boys & Girls club the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens in their community. They were found in 1860 and have been shaping and molding children to be a successful and contributing part of society.
After School Activities in Santa Clarita
The Boys & Girls Club was formed in Santa Clarita by a group of community leaders who recognized the need for high-quality, affordable programs and facilities for area young people. With over 4000 clubs nationwide, the Club in Santa Clarita has two locations for young people to visit. Becoming a part of the Boys & Girls Club of America, Santa Clarita has demonstrated their dedication for their young community to become involved and organized in fun and exciting activities that will have a fantastic impact on their lives as they grow to adulthood.
Since the inception in Santa Clarita, the vision of the Club has been to provide every child with the essential tools needed for a bright and successful future. Every day, the Club strives to improve each child’s life by instilling self-esteem, courage, and positive values through all their educational programs. Nearly 2100 young people between the ages of 7 and 17 are engaged in proven programs that reinforce positive values and provide avenues for personal growth and development. Their youth come to the Club to receive tutoring, homework assistance, computer training, sports, social recreation, education, mentoring, arts and crafts, and so much more. Their members gain confidence by developing a sense of usefulness, competence and belonging.
The Club is non-profit, non-sectarian organization. People are often astonished to learn that membership in the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita is only $60 per year per child for the first child and $45 for each additional child in a household.
