Henry Mowry, known as Mr. M, started woodworking back in 1974 as a freshman in college. Working for the University of Missouri’s theater department Mr. M discovered his passion for woodworking. Over the years he has greatly honed his skills and in 2014 he sold his first cutting board at a craft fair. Now he’s making cutting boards, cheese boards, and engraved boards for customers from his woodshop in Valencia.
Custom High Quality Wood
Customers are given a multitude of options for their boards. Mr. M uses only high-quality hard wood sourced from around the world. Some popular choices include: Ash, Cherry, Mahogany, and Walnut. A variety of sizes are offered. Cheese boards are 8″ x 10″ x 3/4″ up to 12″ x 19″ x 1-1/2″. Small boards are very versatile and are 8″ x 10″ x 3/4″ up to 12″ x 12″ x 1-1/2″. Cutting boards are typically 12″ x 12″ x 1-1/4″ up to 16″ x 24″ x 1-1/2″ and even beyond.

Mr. M offers a wide range of aesthetics, made to order, or take a look at his inventory of pre-made boards. Stripes, checkerboard, or solid patterns are some of your options. Engraving is offered to give boards that special touch. Juice grooves can be cut into the outside of the board to help keep your countertops clean. Whatever the preference, there’s a board made for you. The hardwood used holds up exceptionally well to wear-and-tear to keep the board looking pristine. Most boards have finger holds cut in along with non-skid rubber feet attached. Boards typically take a few weeks to make. Boards make great gifts and are made in time for big occasions such as anniversaries, weddings, and birthdays. Pickup is available for free out in Valencia.
