Enjoy the latest woodworking creations from Wood N’ Tole at the 2015 Santa Clarita Home and Garden Show! Founder Jim McGuire has been woodworking for over thirty years, and you’ll be amazed by the intricacy of his creations! From clothes trees to welcome signs to celebrity portraits, Jim can carve practically anything from several different types of wood, and makes everything right from his garage in Canyon Country. He enjoys creating designs to satisfy the vision of every customer, and looks forward to the unique challenges of commissioned pieces.
Jim’s carvings have won awards from the Orange County Craft Fair, and were featured in The Santa Clarita Valley Signal. His most intricate design, “Big Cats”, displays five different large felines and took almost 1,000 cuts to create. Jim uses only a scroll saw to make even the most complex carvings, and the care he puts into his handiwork shows in every piece. “First Fathers” uses spackling techniques and exposed bark to feature the faces of Mount Rushmore towering above Indian chiefs Sitting Bull, Geronimo, Joseph, and Red Cloud in stunning detail. Jim’s woodworking skills enable him to create many different designs that are sure to delight and impress people of all ages.

The Are No Woodworking Limits To What Wood N’ Tole Can Do
Wooden names, tigers, custom portraits – Jim handcrafts it all. He has a pattern for everything, from Thomas Jefferson to Beyonce. Lovingly handcrafted and beautifully rendered, these woodworks make great family keepsakes, home decorations, mementos, and tokens of affection. Although he’s never had any formal training in woodworking, there are no limits to what Jim can create. He’s made renderings of sports personalities, musical stars, cars, animals, and nature scenes, and his wooden signs make great additions to hang on your wall or front door.
As Wood N’ Tole, Jim McGuire appears at several craft fairs and art shows in the Southern California area throughout the year. Be sure to stop by his booth at the 2015 Santa Clarita Valley Home and Garden Show! He will gladly answer questions from patrons about his work, and will carve small items during his time at expos to show how his carvings are made.
